Raymond has been working in his company for six years with a minimal salary increase and no promotion. His friends are being promoted, getting new gadgets, and his brother just bought a house. He felt left behind and stuck with life.
His only solution was to get out of corporate life. His idea is if others can succeed in business, he will succeed in business in no time as well.
Raymond had a hundred business ideas, and when he found out that different laundry shops are earning well, he wrote his resignation letter, gave it to his boss and gathered his life savings to pursue his laundry shop.
I told him to wait, not yet because of the amount of capital needed for this type of business is significant and risking it all with no entrepreneurship experience is suicide, but he didn't listen.
Sadly, in less than a year he had to close the laundry business because they were bleeding so much money every month. He felt bad because
I told him, "it's okay, just think of it as a 400,000php real-life MBA tuition fee, and now you know better.” I don’t know if he wanted to punch me or laugh with what I said. He told me that he got too excited in earning big money fast that he forgot that it was a process that you have to embrace.
I’m glad today that Raymond has learned his lesson, and because he lost a significant capital, he started a side hustle with minimum expense and using social media and word-of-mouth for marketing it, and is making money with minimal stress.
When we’re experiencing financial stress, we become desperate to find a way to make big money now, and we’re tempted to fall for “easy money schemes.”
Stop yourself from falling into that trap.
“Wealth from get-rich-quick schemes quickly disappears;
wealth from hard work grows over time.”
– Proverbs 13:11 NLT
Instead, start a side hustle, or sell something on the side.
Sell something on the side.
Why sell even if you are not an extrovert or natural salesperson? It's because something of sale can have high rewards, it's the job that doesn't care about your credentials, and as long as you have big dreams, and a strong will, you can produce.
What is sales? Selling is sincerely in solving people's problems. That is the message of this whole book, find something that will solve someone's problem, and you can earn a lot from it.
I have an easy to learn business philosophy. I sincerely figure out a way to help my clients, and then the money and referrals just come.
Now, it's time to clear your mind and start believing that selling creates a culture and cycle of helping. When you have a successful sale, you improve your client, you grow your finances, and you support the family you love. Win-win-win for everyone!

With minimal to no capital, use your knowledge, and skills to create a side hustle.
It can be buying consumer product for a lower price by ordering it from China, or Divisoria, strapping your logo into it and then selling through social media and friends.
You can also try using a specific skill you have as a service for someone and charging for it. An example can be: if you have programming and I.T. skills, you can help SMEs build their website or company system, and cost for your output.
A side hustle is the testing phase of your additional income stream, and it shouldn't be expensive. Don't spend what you earn by creating a big company immediately. You're your ideas by working with what you have.
You might have multiple failures in this stage, but that’s okay, that’s why we prefer starting small so that that the failure will be small as well. Keep experimenting until you find a side hustle that words, and then grow it from there.
