The word “opportunistic” may sometimes have a negative connotation, but if you’re desperate to grow your business, being opportunistic can be an advantage to you.

I decided to jump from being an employee to being a freelance marketing consultant months ago. To be honest, it was an easy transition for me. Why? Because I prepared for it months in advance. I practiced Opportunistic Marketing.

Opportunistic Marketing can be two things:
1. Being clear with what you want to happen in your business and in your brand. And doing everything in your power to achieve it.
2. Conquering that introversion that’ eating you when it’s time to talk about your product.


The fact that you’re reading this, is a result of Opportunistic Marketing. Someone isn’t too shy to share you some information.

Ironically, I’m very much preaching to myself this Opportunistic Marketing concept. Though I’ve done lots of campaigns for other people, it’s a challenge to teach myself on how to market my own brand. I’m an introvert, and I don’t like being exposed to a lot of people often. I’m not comfortable seeing my face often on social media. BUT because an introverted person like me is NOW DOING IT, you have NO excuse.

If you really want your business to grow, if you really want more opportunities to open up to you, then you have to be disciplined enough to swallow your pride and START DOING IT.

Yes, it’s difficult. But because I’m clear on what I want to happen with my consultancy business (and my life) and I’m willing to do everything to achieve it, I’m going to place my introvert self aside and speak in front of people, ask my friends for referrals, do pro-bono service, and so on. Then I can just lock myself up in my room and watch Netflix afterwards.

Kristine is a marketer by profession, and by heart. She has extensive experience in strategic marketing, product management, events management, and small & medium business (SMB) marketing.

Having worked in the publishing industry for 4 years and running, Kristine is a marketing consultant for bestselling authors and speakers such as Bo Sanchez, Rissa Singson-Kawpeng, Larry Gamboa, and Jonathan Yabut among others. She launches a new author almost every month with her team, and has thousands of sold copies under her marketing management. She also worked in the events industry where she handled accounts such as Microsoft, BPI, Metrobank Cards, and Resorts World Manila. Also, Kristine’s 3-year experience in product and portfolio management in a telecommunications company taught her grit the she carries up to this day.

It’s her passion to mentor sole proprietors, infopreneurs and startups in their branding and marketing journey through consultation sessions and workshops. On top of what she does for publishing and consultancy, Kristine is also a lecturer in De La Salle University. She facilitates learner-centered discussions in Principles of Marketing, Computer Applications for Marketing, and Print Advertisement, among others.

Kristine earned her Masters degree in Marketing Communications in De La Salle University last 2014.
